«Уловка 22» (1961), роман о войне Джозефа Хеллера [Heller, Joseph] <Catch 22 — положение в армейских инструкциях, гласящее, что просьба солдата об освобождении от строевой службы может быть удовлетворена, если его сочтут умственно непригодным для боя (но каждый, у кого хватает ума попросить об освобождении от ужасов войны, очевидно, умственно здоров, поэтому должен оставаться в строю и идти в бой). В перен. смысле ‘catch 22' — это любая абсурдно-двойственная ситуация (напр., нельзя получить работу, не имея стажа, а стаж нельзя приобрести без работы)>
